ABOUT THE CALL
Strategic Innovation Open Call

​​

EIT Urban Mobility seeks collaborative, market-driven projects that address major urban mobility challenges.


The call focuses on five areas:

  • Urban logistics,

  • Public transport,

  • Mobility data management,

  • Electrification of transport and alternative fuels, and

  • Health and mobility. 

​

The total call budget is €60M for the period 2026–2028.
Projects can receive up to €2M (max. 65% of eligible costs, with at least 35% co-funding).


Partnerships must include at least two independent entities from different EU Member States or Horizon Europe associated countries.

2026 European Prize for Women Innovators

The EIC and EIT will award nine prizes to outstanding women innovators from the EU and Horizon Europe Associated Countries.

​

Categories: Women Innovators, Rising Innovators (under 35), EIT Women Leadership.

​

Awards: Up to €100 000.

Urban Mobility Explained (UMX)

EIT Urban Mobility invites proposals for its Urban Mobility Explained (UMX) Open Call, supporting high-quality, sustainable training and support services that close the urban mobility knowledge gap.

​

Focus: Development, delivery, scaling, or replication of professional courses (including EIT Label-certified) to enhance skills of mobility professionals and organisations, especially at city level.

​

Funding: €2–4M total; up to €700,000 per proposal.

​

Who can apply: Any legal entity from EU Member States or Horizon Europe associated countries (SMEs, universities, RTOs, cities, large businesses).

​

SoilTribes | Open Call to Support Initiatives Led by Multi-Actor Teams

SoilTribes offers lump-sum grants to support innovative, multi-actor initiatives that foster soil literacy, raise public awareness, and engage communities in soil protection and restoration.

​

Funding: Total budget €1.75M; fixed grant amounts depending on project scope and lot.


Lots:

  • Lot 1: New ideas (early-stage).

  • Lot 2: Improvement/scale-up of existing initiatives.
    ​

Who can apply: Public or private legal entities from EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries, including cultural & creative organisations, NGOs, public authorities, universities, research centres, SMEs, and startups.

WASABI – Open Call for Experiments 2

​

The WASABI project is funding up to 10 manufacturing experiments, with a total budget of €1.52M, to develop AI-based digital assistance solutions for manufacturing processes and products.

​

Who can apply:
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from any manufacturing sector in Horizon Europe-eligible countries.

​

Funding scope:
Projects should focus on advanced human–AI collaboration, including:

  • Human–machine interfaces for complex processes

  • Agile onboarding of new employees

  • Conversational AI for data access

  • AI-guided maintenance operations
     

Key facts:

  • Duration: 12 months
